Exploring my experimentation with ChatGPT and Midjourney, the challenges I've faced, and the lessons I've learned.

Midjourney Prompts & Seeds

Initially I wanted to create an architectural "coffee-table book" using Midjourney+Canva. I found requests to be very inconsistent. After researching, I adopted prompts like hyper-realistic or cinematic lighting and seeds which significantly improved consistency however can still be unstable. Looking through a  transmedia and computational creativity lens, I saw the complexity of training AI + the potential of transforming digital media into something physical. I found new interest and respect for these processes and the unique elements brought to the table by different transmedia platforms and formats.

ChatGPT creating Midjourney AI Prompts

Moving forward, I trained ChatGPT to create Midjourney prompts which produced more accurate depictions and reduced human error. Combining multiple computational algorithms in a bricolage highlights collaborative creativity between AI. Training AI also constructed my own data algorithm, increasing human input efficiency.

Coding with ChatGPT

Then i build a website using ChatGPT, which outputted incomplete code and ignored specific requests. This prompted me to reflect on privacy and collective intelligence, highlighting that prior HTML knowledge to ensure effective and safe code is needed but ChatGPT can be a helpful coding tool. As someone with some coding experience, I aim to explore this further.

Experimenting with these emergent media platforms highlighted many creative possibilities. I'm excited to further explore ChatGPT's ability to create code and tackle projects I once found daunting from lack of coding knowledge. As well as Midjourney's tools in creative image rendering.

Collaborative Project

  • Spotify Cassettes via Laser Engraving.
  • ChatGPT recommends music/genre/mood for users > Spotify Code generated = physical cassette.
  • 3D printing creates storage boxes.
  • My Rapid Prototyping integrates ChatGPT into our website for customers to interact with our system and order cassettes + promote.
